Starting December 1, 2024, the Healthy Incentives Program (HIP) benefit is limited to $20/month for every household regardless of size. This is change is because there is not enough money for the program this year. Somerville offers a SNAP match of up to $15/week at the Davis, Union, and Winter farmers markets. For every dollar of SNAP you spend, you get an EXTRA dollar, e.g. if you spend $8, you can purchase $16 of food.
