Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Fall Coalition Meeting!

We had the pleasure of hearing from a City of Somerville rep about the upcoming Participatory Budgeting process. During the meeting, we came up with community resource ideas related to food access and community nutrition, which have been added to the Participatory Budgeting Map.

Check out some of our ideas!
🥦 a long term storage location for community fridges
🚗 transportation to food distribution locations & designated parking during distribution hours
🥗 food access and education opportunities for high school youth
📚a community teaching kitchen space

In the last days of Hunger Action Month, take part by supporting your local community orgs!

Big shout out to the Family Learning Collaborative

Big shout out to the Family Learning Collaborative, Food for Free, and community volunteers! They make possible the monthly Free School Food Markets, a great program that lets SPS families choose the food items they need to support their nutrition in a community setting. Markets will be held in the summer at East School ONLY on July 9 and Aug 6.
